This is a new website in 2016, that has a simple aim: to keep an eye on the world of research communication, in order to try to get a clearer sense of what we mean when we say “research” or, more commonly, “evidence”.
What place does research have in our sense of how the world works? What does expertise convey in public communication? Who counts as an expert, and what happens when expertise runs into difficulty?
This is a primary resource for media & communications students and academics looking into research practices. We’re located at the University of Wollongong, and this is part of our degree philosophy of working in public.
